burn off…

2016-10-27 0
(Cathy and her husband Ned are driving on the freeway … )
Cathy: This fog is really thick.
Ned: It'll burn off soon.
Cathy: Maybe this isn't a good idea.
Ned: Don't worry. I'll be careful.
Cathy: But the traffic is moving at a snail's pace.
Ned: It'll just take a little longer to get there.
Cathy: Well I think we should turn back.
Ned: My Mom is expecting us and I don't want to disappoint her.
Cathy: We can go next weekend.
Ned: I don't want to put it off. We did that last time we planned to see her.
*(move) at a snail‘s pace:
“You’re moving at a snail‘s pace. You’ll never get your work done.”
“We turned back because the road was closed.”
*put (something) off: 미루다.
“I am putting off my plans to marry Alice.”
